One of the things I realised this last week is that when I go in to my studio, I love the ritual involved in the preparation. If I’m moving from painting to printmaking, I put the handles back on the press and shift it away from the wall to make room for the print bed.Continue reading “Rites and rituals.”

An ending and a beginning.
I think I may have actually finished a painting. I spent two final sessions working on a couple of areas I wasn’t happy with, and have got as close (I think) as I can to where I wanted it to be. One life drawing session later, and I’ve been having a great time playing with monotypesContinue reading “Finding my feet….”

Collagraphy and Chine-collé
Many thanks to Bruce who took on a whole day of ‘Frank-watch’ so I could do some work in the studio 😘. I spent time experimenting with different surfaces for making collagraphy plates and then combined this with what I’d learnt about Chine-collé to add colour. My intention was to print these as relief printsContinue reading “Collagraphy and Chine-collé”
